in the unabridged english version of the novel arne saknussemm was persecuted of heresy and all his books were burnt. professor lidenbrock got this information from dr fridrikson. the latter told him that arne's books were not found in any part of the world even in iceland. so arne had to hide the parchment which had his secret in a book written by another writer
