Mr. west intended to buy his wife a Christmas present, but he always very busy, so he was never able to find time to go to the shops. At last, he went to a big shop near his office during his lunch hour. The shop was full of women, who were also buying presents during their lunch hour. Mr. west stood politely at the edge of a crowd of women who were pushing forward to try to get the people who were selling necklaces and ear-rings. He tried to move forward slowly, taking his turn with the others, but more and more women were coming into the shop the whole time and pushing selfishly past him. After half an hour, he was just as far from the people who were selling the necklaces as he had been when he came in. His lunch hour was coming to an end, so he decided to change his way of doing things. He put his head down, gave a sudden loud shout and started to push his way towards the front of the crowd as hard as he could. The women around him became very angry when they saw what he was doing, and began to ask him. " Why can't you behave like a gentleman?" they shouted. "Ladies", he answered them, "I have been behaving like a gentleman for the past half hour and it has got me nowhere, so now I'm starting to behave like a lady!"

In his latest discovery of the smallest unit of time, the "femto second"
Zewail showed that it is possible with rapid laser technique to see how atoms move. This technique is similar to the slow motion replays of a football match. These enable us to watch the match in detail and understand what is really going on. Similarly, Zewail's technique shows atoms in" slow motion" during a reaction to see the movements of individual atoms. This technique will be very useful in studying complex life processes, the structure of electronic bodies, and the production of the medicines of the future.When Zewail decided to visit his motherland, Egypt, he got hero's welcome at all levels. He was also given the "Necklace of the Nile". It is the highest award to be granted to Egyptian figures who offer immense contributions to humanity.

One day last week, a brightly coloured hot air ballon came down in a
field near Tariq's house in Al-Minya. As soon as he saw it, Tariq phoned his friend, Gamal, and told him all about it. Gamal was very interested. He immediately cycled over to Tariq's house and the two boys went to the field to look at the balloon. Two men were climbing out of it and when they saw the two boys, they waved at them to come over. One of the men asked where they were, as they had no idea where they had landed. Tariq and Gamal told them that they had come down near Al-Minya. The two men asked the boys if they would help them to fold up the balloon, and if they could use the telephone to get some help. With the introduction of the Internet into our daily lives, we have
changed from a society of eight hours (that works from 8 am to 2 pm) into a twenty four-hour society. Everything in this lifestyle is open all hours. You can buy your grocery at midnight, book your holiday on the internet at 3am and do business online at dawn. Before you join the 24-hour revolution, take a minute to listen to what your body is trying to tell you. This 'round the clock' lifestyle is not what the Great Creator intended for us. In an area of our brains, we have a 'body clock' that controls our body's natural rhythms. It tells us when it is the right time to eat, sleep, work or play. It plays an important part in our physical and psychological well being. It is, in fact, what makes us control many things including our hormones, temperatures, immune system and activity. It regulates the
tempo and brings in all the different instruments on time to make music rather than noise. If we try to ignore our body clocks, or even to switch them off for a while, we not only deprive ourselves of much needed rest, but we also run the risk of seriously damaging our health. Accordingly, we need to have a daily routine.
