I think Axel was worried all the journey until they found the underground water and he wasn't thirsty any more

أسمحولى اشرح بالعربي :

** لم يبدأ قلقه على نفاد المياه الا في الممر الشرقي .
** واما عن قلقة من الحمم فهو معه منذ بداية الرحلة حتى نهايتها .
** ولكن قلقه بشأن المياه انتهى بلحظة عثروهم على النهر .
** والصخور البارزة كانت تساعدهم في النزول ولم تكن مصدر قلق .

ولكن الأجابة فى القصة ص 23 :

it was getting darker and narrower and he couldn't see the bottom of the chimney

My humble point of view, the question isn't the correct one. I've found so many questions that have no answers as they are not correct questions. I think that some teachers put strange questions without caring whether they are correct or not. Only to be difficult ones

because he thought that one day this chimney was the way of the lava when the volcano once erupted.
