هناك موضوع اخر مهم وهو متى لا نستخدم a /an امام الاسم المفرد الذى يعد
Yacoub became professor of Heart Surgery at London University in 1986.
هنا قلنا professor بدون a
ذكر فى Comprhensive English Grammar الاتى
They made him king.
Mr Priestley was professor of English at Oxbridge University .
السبب هو
If the noun denotes a title or office that can only be held by one person at a time ,the indefinite article is not used.
