Words Easily Confused

Dear colleagues,

Here I`m going to explain , with Allah`s help and guidance, some differences between certain related words as well as write a short exercise as a test on the material presented.

Group 1 – 19/6

Travel = السفر عموماً / رحلة (مثل رحلات جليفر و إبن بطوطة)
Trip = رحلة للمتعة أو لغرضٍ ما (مثل الرحلات المدرسية و رحلات رجال الأعمال)
Journey = رحلة طويلة شاقة / الإنتقال (بوسيلة مواصلات) من مكان لآخر
Tour = جولة سياحية (مثلما يفعل السائح فى تنقله من مكان لآخر فى زياراته) ربما بمساعدة مُرشد / جولة فنّية
Voyage = رحلة بحرية (على مركب أو سفينة) وليس الأساس فيها المُتعة و يكون المقصود الإنتقال / رحلة إلى الفضاء
Cruise = رحلة للمُتعة على مركب (مثل الكروزات التى تُنّظم للسياح بين مدن صعيد مصر)
Flight = رحلة طيران (جوّية)
Excursion = رحلة قصيرة (كجُزء من برنامج رحلات اليوم – مثل للأهرامات فقط ثم الأخرى للقلعة)
Expedition = رحلة إستكشافية علمية (لعمل أبحاث عن الحياة فى القطب الشمالى) / رحلة قصيرة لغرضٍ ما (الصيد)
