I had a discussion with some of my facebook friends about will be and would have been and I wanted to share it with you

Kathryn Enright ie..she promised yesterday ..that she will be home tomorrow.. I can see why there is such a heated debate !! it makes common sense to English people ..and no one else !!
Lisa DeVane well I say your daughter is right about it ....if the answer was would have been ....it would be past tense ...but tomorrow has not happened yet!
Kathryn Enright wow..well done to your daughter...!! ..but what would u answer.....so that means the model answer/book is wrong !! tricky !!..be interesting to see what it is marked.....the same as our daughter learning French..when she got to France ..she found it was different to the book..lol

Ahmed Alkusayer You are right Kathryn but when I saw the test I know how the examiner thinks so I knew that the model answer would be " would have been" but I was sure that a lot of students will choose " will be" because of tomorrow as they know that it should be changed into " the following day" and you right what we teach to our students is different from the native English
