(v.) to gain control over something that is difficult, using a lot of effort
These words were part of the sentence

I gave the student the simple meaning get over something

A student posted the sentence and the question, most probably from a teacher`s notes or from a revision book. You know that they are full of countless mistakes. That`s why I don`t use them. My voluntary work is to give correct answers and if I can`t I give my opinion.

Both choices are wrong. I think it is a wrong sentence. I have never come across a structure like this that.

HIM would be vague (is it another person rather than Ali or is it Ali himself) so it is not acceptable + it is not a common structure.

marry is not used with reflexive pronouns. Other verbs that belong to the same category: avoid, embrace, face, help, kiss, meet, etc. These verbs require two or more people doing the action.

So, Old Ali has got (……… / him / himself) married at last.
