Notice that I`ve corrected it by adding IT at the end of the sentence.

Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English defines conquer as follows:
(v.) to gain control over something that is difficult, using a lot of effort
These words were part of the sentence

I gave the student the simple meaning get over something

Which one do you think is right?

A student posted the sentence and the question, most probably from a teacher`s notes or from a revision book. You know that they are full of countless mistakes. That`s why I don`t use them. My voluntary work is to give correct answers and if I can`t I give my opinion.
