توجد عبر بحار صفحات الانترنت تواجد متميز للمهنة يعرفه من أبحر كثيرا وطلب مصادر الانترنت المتصلة بها, فهناك مواقع كثيرة تخص المهنة ومؤسساتها وجمعياتها وخريجيها وكلياتها, ويمكننا أن نجد في داخل هذه المواقع جرعة دسمة من الأدوات المساعدة في إتمام البحوث في الخدمة الاجتماعية.
فبينما يُجاهدُ معلمي الخدمة الاجتماعية لمُسَاعَدَة الطلابِ في الاستعداد لممارسة الخدمة الاجتماعية ، فان هناك أيضا الكثيرون منهم الذين يَتّجهونَ إلى الإنترنتِ واستخدامها كقاعةِ دروس مفيدةِ. وتقدم الإنترنت ثروة معلوماتِية متميزة مِنْ الجمعيةِ القومية الأمريكية للأخصائيين الاجتماعيين NASW والمصادر الاخري التي تعرض للخدمة الاجتماعية ,والتي تقدم فيها الانترنت للطلاب كأداة للتعليم حول تاريخ الخدمة الاجتماعية ,ومن خلالها يطور الطلاب مهاراتهم التكنولوجية والتي تعينهم في دراساتهم الأكاديمية ووظائفهم المهنية
