Because it is difficult to pronounce the letter (a ) before other letters such as ( a ,e,i,o, and u,) and the rule was put for this reason ,so we use it when we do not have the problem with words ..such as a university- a european country .and the same thing is used with an we say an hour -an honst man and so on . I think that our friend who explained this subject in Arabic is totally right .

( university , unit . european....) the first sound of these words is not a consonant as you have said ,but it is a semi-vowel /j/ which is pronounce as the letter (y) at the begininning of words as ( you/yes/yet....). And as we know that there are only two semi-vowels in English ( /w/ and /j/ )

أستاذنا العزيز ، واضح ان موضوعاتك قيمة وهامة ، ولكن لي ملحوظة على كافة مواضيعك ، وقبل ما أقولها أحب اقولك ان الخلاف في الرأي لا يفسد للو د قضية ، وانت طبعا استاذي ماقدرشي اختلف معاك وعلشان كده ، عاوز أقول لحضرتك من فضلك تابع مواضيعك ، علشان تحلها ، وياريت لو سمحت تون في صيغة شرح يعنى مثلا انا مافهمتش الموضوع اللي انت حاطه ده عاوز منه ايه ، نخلي بالنا من ايه ؟؟؟ طيب ما كان من الاحسن علشان وقتنا ان حضرتك تشرح اللي انت عاوزنا نخلي بالنا منه
ونفس الامر بالنسبة لمواضيع سيادتك الاخرى واقصد خصوصا تصحيح الاخطاء ممكن مثلا سيادتك تحط الاسئلة في الموضوع وتحط الاجابات في مرفقات الموضوع وبكدة تبقى ضربت عصفورين بحجر واحد الطالب يحاول يحل الاسئلة ولو ما عرفش يرجع للاجابات او يرجع ليها للتأكد من اجابته ايه رأي سيادتك شكرا ومنتظر ردكم |
